Right now, I’m on the first day of a week off! It came at a really good time, because I ended last week cranky, tired and incredibly stressed. When I look back at that week though, there’s nothing there that was Big - nothing I really should have been all that stressed about. What had happened was that a bunch of small things had pressed my buttons in very specific ways, pushing me way further down the exhaustion scale than any of it had any right to.

It reminds me of something I heard recently (pretty sure on a TikTok somewhere):

Someone who drowns in an inch of water, and someone who drowns in 20 feet of water, are no less drowned.

So I’m writing this micro blog post to remind myself: You can drown in an inch of water, this is why preventative care (and time off) is so important. I feel lucky to have booked this week off the last time I needed time, and I’m lucky it lined up at the right moment to keep me from making things worse.
